During Your Appointment
What happens if my documents have blanks or are not complete?
While Notaries are not required to understand or interpret documentation, we must ensure documents with variables are complete or notarizations cannot be done. Notaries cannot advise or explain words or phrases contained in documents and any blanks or spaces will need to be filled, lined through, or contain the "N/A" phrase. It is best to contact your document issuer or receiver for additional information about your documents.
Does the Notary Public need to see the entire document?
In short - yes.
The entire documents must be presented to the Notary for the notarization to be complete. This includes all Addenda and additional Exhibits. In our process, we will skim through the document to attain certain particulars such as document type, signer name(s), number of pages, and completeness.
We understand privacy is important and promise to uphold it to the utmost respect and only gather information we need.
